UBA organises resources conferences

European and national platform for discussion to promote networking and the initiation of stakeholder alliances to be held from 10-12 November in Berlin

After the success of the conferences in 2012, the Federal Environment Agency is hosting the European Resources Forum (ERF) and the National Resources Forum (NRF) for the second time. The conferences will take place from 10 to 12 November 2014 in Berlin.

The aim of the two conferences is to provide a European and national platform for discussion of the issue of sustainable resource use which focuses on the political and scientific debate on this subject. They also seek to promote networking and the initiation of stakeholder alliances.

The European Forum (10-11 November 2014) will focus inter alia on the topics “resource use and the role of the financial system”, “justice in the use of natural resources” and “objectives for sustainable resource use”.

Topics dealt with at the National Resources Forum (12 November 2014) include “resource efficiency in business”, “management of resources at regional and municipal level” and “status and further development of the German resource efficiency programme”.

Up to 700 participants from politics, business, science, civil society and the media are expected to attend, including some 75 high-level speakers.
