purac.jpgPurac Thailand strengthens Purac’s position as the world’s largest manufacturer of natural lactic acid, derivatives and lactides and has a central role within the manufacturing footprint. It supports the company’s worldwide growth, including the fast growing Asia Pacific region, and supplies its derivatives plants.

On April 4, the factory was officially opened with a grand ceremony attended by the Secretary General of the Thailand Board of Investment, the Governor of Rayong province and the Dutch Ambassador in Thailand as well as other distinguished guests.

The development and construction of the plant has been successful. The project was safely completed within the scheduled time period; 4,500,000 safe working hours from the start of the project to the initial start-up. From the commencement of production in November 2007, the products being produced are meeting PURAC’s high quality specifications. The capacity is 100.000 tons of lactic acid and 15.000 tons of lactates.
