Novamont starts a new partnership in Serbia

Serbian Chamber of Commerce’s vocation, is to create a pilot project enabling the introduction of new technologies in the city of Gornji Milanovac

On January 24th NOVAMONT met with Gornji Milanovac’s local administration, a city located in Central Serbia, to start a dialogue with the local government upon European policies in the field of circular economy.

During the meeting, NOVAMONT presented its circular bioeconomy’s model and the Italian collection system, disposal and exploitation of organic waste, which, through the composting process, can be transformed into a valuable resource for soil fertility.

The Serbian Chamber of Commerce’s vocation, is to create a pilot project enabling the introduction of new technologies (from plants for bioplastics transformation to composting plants) in the city of Gornji Milanovac, and to start new public-private partnerships with local and foreign companies.

The Secretary of the Plastics Section of the Chamber of Commerce, declared that this project it is expected to generate a circular economy case study in Serbia.

During the meeting the representatives of NOVAMONT and the Chamber of Commerce had the opportunity to visit two production companies of Gornji Milanovac, one for to the production of colors and raw materials for plastics, and one of the major producers of plastic shopping bags in Serbia.
