nova-Newsletter August 2016

Your monthly update on nova-Institute's activities

Dear Readers,

nova-Institute’s latest news at a glance – all details in the newsletter below:

  • nova is part of an exciting new project, called SuperBIO: Innovative SME value chains can receive vouchers for a wide range of services; nova invites you to participate in workshops to learn more about the project and your potential participation. The first workshop at nova will take place on 30 August. Another workshop is organized by CTA on 12 September in Seville (Spain). Learn more about SuperBIO in the newsletter.
  • The first two nova Sessions on CCU and bio-based feedstocks were well received, shared a lot of information and sparked lively discussions. Because of the active demand, we are offering the nova Session on “Biomass feedstocks today and in the future – going beyond food vs. fuel” again on 8 September. Interested parties should register quickly at www.bio-based.eu/nova-sessions/registration to make sure they can participate, because the number of participants is limited.
  • We are looking forward to our next big event on the direct use of CO2: On 6 – 7 December, nova will organise the “5th Conference on Carbon Dioxide as Feedstock for Fuels, Chemistry and Polymers”. For the first time, it will take place in Cologne, as the previous location has become too small. The programme already features many interesting speakers and, very importantly: Until the end of August, an early bird discount of 20% on all tickets and a free booth for the first ten exhibitors are available! The event is the meeting point for the “UseCO2“ community with exhibition, designated area for spontaneous meetings, match making tools and online posting during the talks. The twitter hashtag is #CCU2016. All details in the newsletter.
  • “Who is who” in the Bio-based Economy – find new players, supplier and partners in the growing Bio-based Business. We relaunched the “International Directory for Bio-based Businesses (iBIB)“ – the relaunch brings a new attractive design, more search criteria and especially the easy upload of company profiles for free and an unlimited time period (www.bio-based.eu/iBIB/booknow)! After the relaunch we expect high access to the database and a continuously growth of company profiles. The success story to be continued.
  • Last but not least we would like to introduce Niels de Beus, who works in the department of sustainability. His topics are LCA and modelling. Learn more about him in the newsletter.

Best regards and here’s hoping that summer will finally catch up in North and Middle Europe!

Kind regards

Michael Carus
Managing Director, nova-Institut GmbH
