NNFCC and FNR agree to collaborate on bioeconomy development

Information sharing and joint strategic and policy development of the bioeconomy in the UK and Germany

Established in 2003, NNFCC’s mission is to provide clients with a holistic view of feedstock, technology, policy and market development across the bioeconomy, enabling them to make informed business decisions and develop sustainable business strategies.

FNR recognises the value of knowledge exchange and actively works to exchange information with stakeholders from across Europe, covering research and development (R&D), R&D funding, public administration and policy. This exchange improves transnational cooperation and keeps participants at the forefront of technology and policy developments in Europe, supporting the growth of a sustainable renewable resources sector and the bioeconomy.

NNFCC and FNR have a long standing working relationship. Both organisations were founding members of the European Renewable Resources and Materials Association (ERRMA) and have collaborated on research and development projects such as the EnAlgae project and co-organised knowledge exchange visits.

Dr Jeremy Tomkinson, NNFCC CEO said: “Through this agreement to share information and knowledge, NNFCC and FNR will enhance and increase the rate of bioeconomy development not only in the UK and Germany, but throughout Europe.”

Dr.- Ing. Andreas Schütte, FNR Managing Director said: “The cooperation with NNFCC is an essential component of our European network. This is the foundation for the efficient development of the bioeconomy on a European level.”

Through this partnership, NNFCC and FNR will exchange market information and regularly review policy developments in the UK and Germany to identify policy, market and technology barriers, opportunities for collaboration and examples of best practice.
