Malaysia considers palm/diesel law

Malaysian government is seriously considering legislation to make the blending of conventional diesel and palm oil mandatory. Apart from reducing pollution, it would help to limit or reduce palm oil stocks and keep prices at acceptable levels.
Proposals would be made to the Indonesian government to move in a similar direction in order for the 2 countries to co-operate without competition.
It is expected that Indonesia will overtake Malaysia as the world’s largest palm oil producer by 2005.
