Local company cooks up bio-success recipe

Spinoff markets items made of soy-based plastics developed by Battelle

Bioplastics is one of the hottest areas in the plastics industry, and one central Ohio company is moving quickly to bring its versions of the innovative material to the marketplace.

“I feel like I’m flying about Mach 2,” said Keith Masavage, leader of Biobent, which last week was spun off from its former parent company, Marysville-based plastics manufacturer Univenture.
