FKuR Polymers at Fakuma 2015

Compounding company puts customer solutions at the center of its activities

FKuR Polymers GmbH is a plastics compounding company that puts highly flexible solutions to individual customer requests at the center of its activities. The product portfolio focuses on the modification of polyolefins and thermoplastic elastomers. While a series of standard compounds are continuously available, customized solutions are of primary importance to the company. The production of FKuR Polymers compounds will be produced on the modern equipment of FKuR Kunststoff GmbH at their Willich location, thus a continuous supply of high quality products to the customer is guaranteed. The new company will present itself to the industry at Fakuma 2015 in hall B4 at booth 4404 for the first time.

Christian Dohmen, Managing Director of FKuR Polymers GmbH says: „A large number of companies are in the position to compound nowadays. Nevertheless, mass production, standard blends along with a tight portfolio management turn out to be a disadvantage as to flexibility. The actual benefit for the customer, i. e. the flexible reaction to his needs, often takes a back seat in this context. But, especially medium-sized companies need customized solutions in order to stand out from competition.“ And Co-Managing Director Patrick Zimmermann adds: „As a medium-sized and privately owned company, we also know these difficulties and this is exactly why we put our focus here. In honest partnerships, we concentrate on developing the best solutions for the customers’ products together with them.“

The TPE Compounds from FKuR Polymers are based on styrene block copolymers (TPE-S). They are characterized by their excellent processing properties along with their balanced ratio between flexibility and resistance. Within the PE and PP compound portfolio, in addition to reinforced and filled grades, there will also be types with high heat resistance, flame retardant, special surface qualities, easy demolding or particularly good flow properties available. Typical application areas are automotive parts, household appliances, furniture, and leisure and sports equipment.

Currently FKuR Polymers plans to expand the portfolio to include medical compounds based on PE and PP for end products that do not remain in the body permanently. Certification of the production in Willich to EN 13485 is intended, with a focus on traceability and documentation in production in order to ensure a high purity of the medical compounds.

Extending the portfolio of customized specialties by standard compounds and by the distribution of specialty plastics enables FKuR Polymers to offer one-stop solutions: “In all cases we see it as our obvious duty to provide support to our customers’ projects – from technical advice in the development phase to commercialization of their specialties.” states Dohmen.
