Codexis Awarded Biofuels Enzyme Patent

Patent is cornerstone for company’s cellulosic biofuels program

Codexis, Inc., a developer of industrial enzymes to enable the production of biofuels, biobased chemicals, and pharmaceutical intermediates, today announced it has been awarded a key patent from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office covering an important component of the company’s proprietary enzymatic technology that can be used for production of cellulosic biofuels.

Codexis specifically received U.S. Patent No. 8,143,050, “Recombinant Beta-Glucosidase Variants for Production of Soluble Sugars from Cellulosic Biomass”.
