Bio-based Plasticiser completes cradle-to-gate LCA

Danisco's Soft-N-Safe shows minimal environmental footprint

Danisco’s Soft-N-Safe bio-based plasticiser has completed a cradle-to-gate Life Cycle Assessment, detailing the environmental impacts in accordance with the ISO 14044 standard as well as the ILCD Handbook from the Joint Research Centre of European Commission. For use in food contact and the technical markets, the Glycerine and Castor Oil based plasticiser can be used in a variety of polymers in addition to polyvinyl chloride (PVC), including polyethylene terephthalate (PET) and acrylics.

Danisco’s Mikkel Thrane said the 3rd party verified study shows Soft-N-Safe with a minimal environmental footprint, including a low impact on water resources, non-renewable resource depletion, and greenhouse gas emissions.
