BiNa research platform launched

Project is part of the ‘Sustainable Management’ initiative funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research and coordinated by IfBB

BiNa (Biokunststoffe Nachhaltig – Bioplastics Sustainable) is a new interdisciplinary research platform dedicated to find “new pathways, strategies, business and communication models for bioplastics as a building block for a sustainable economy”. The project is part of the ‘Sustainable Management’ initiative funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research and coordinated by IfBB, the Institute for Bioplastics and Biocomposites at Hochschule Hannover and B.A.U.M., the German Environmental Management Association.

European Bioplastics and WWF support the initiative in the project advisory council.

The research project aims to deliver a scientific assessment of the potentials of bioplastics to contribute to the implementation and sustainable management of a green economy in Germany and to identify political and communicative strategies and recommendations for action to establish bioplastics as a vital part of the transformation process.
