The Belgian supermarket chain Delhaize will start to offer ready to eat salads in biodegradable packaging. The retail concern announced that these packagings are 100% biodegradable.
They are produced from maize and require only 20 to 50% of the amount of fossil fuels that traditional plastic packaging requires.
Delhaize also announced that other products will also be offered in environment friendly packagings in the future.
