Twin Rivers Technologies, the US oleochemical producer headquartered in Quincy, MA, has entered into an agreement to purchase Lonza’s fatty acid/glycerine plant in Painesville, Ohio. The purchase of this 140 million pound fatty acid plant will enable Twin Rivers Technology to offer a broader range of fatty acids to the soap and detergent and personal care industries, including Kosher ones to the food industry.
Lonza has announced an increase in the price of its Glycon G-100 99.5% USP and Glycon G-300 96% USP glycerine by 5 cts/lb from 15th October 2002 onwards. This hike responds to other US producers’ recent announced price increase for glycerine.
