The Bioeconomy Revolution has just begun. The Bioeconomy Revolution is the new ebook on world bioeconomy published by Edizioni Ambiente, the main Italian publisher focused on green economy, bioeconomy and circular economy.

“The Bioeconomy Revolution” is not just another book to be added to the growing number of publications worldwide on the Bioeconomy and more recently on the so-called circular economy.

It is a mixture of Interviews with important stakeholders of this new economic concept from Japan to Canada, and from Malaysia to Portugal, mainly from industrial companies, small, medium and also giants, like DSM, Evonik or BASF. These interviews, performed within the largest international Blog on the Bioeconomy existing, make the description of the emerging bioeconomical revolution very living, fresh and extremely up-to-date, a unique contrast to many other publications which remain in the old style of semiscientific narratives. It is in this respect an anthology of experiences, best or bad practices, a collection of practical statements, with intriguing questions on strategies, perspectives, action plans etc. One might critisize that this represents just a spotlight on the presence, without any deep analysis and showcase for the future, without vision and perspectives. But this is wrong: Many of the questions try to unlock the strategic value of the decisions of the entrepreneurs behind, and the interview, with the most competent personalities in the EU on the development of the Bioeconomy is full of questions, remarks and “ allusions “ on the vision for Europe. Interestingly enough, quite a few questions come back and forth, sometimes a little changed or adapted, so that this book also offers a wonderful opportunity to compare what managers, economist, researchers and politicians from various countries and regions say, how they judge and appreciate chances, risks and potentials. Mario also asks questions on neighbouring fields, like the sustainable development and the relationship of the Bioeconomy with the circular economy and introduces thus the discussion into a true strategic global dimension, not always noncontroversial, which is good!

The book names the responsible managers and entrepreneurs, company owners and political representatives and their affiliations and enterprises, so that this books becomes also a kind of “ Who is Who “ in the industrial, in particular chemical world of the Bioeconomy, an additional advantage or unique feature of this book. The language on a highly sophisticated and complex topic, from molecules to complicated value chains, is very understandable and comprehensive, another positive point of this publication.

Although quite naturally just a spotlight on the Bioeconomy in its 10th year of birth in Europe and many parts of the World, the content of this books demonstrates brilliantly the diversity of the bioeconomical movement and its tremendously not yet unlocked potentials. In this respect this could just be a start, as many regions of the world and many additional industrial branches like textile, cosmetics, automotives It and construction could not yet be dealt with: This is a call for continuation!”
