More than 30km of pipework has been installed by Hertel Willich at Purac Thailand’s new €45m bioplastics plant, which will produce 75,000 tonnes a year of L-Lacitides and D-Lactides made from lactic acid sourced from existing Purac plants.

Rob Reiners, Purac’s project manager, said; “The new plant is a major project for Purac and will help us develop our products in the bioplastics market. The work completed by Hertel Willich is an important part of the team work which has allowed us to complete this project on schedule.”

In addition to the installation of the pipework, Hertel Willich was involved in providing 130,000m3 of scaffolding to support its installation.
