N-Fibre-PriceBase – The Price Development Index for Industrial Flax and Hemp Fibres

A service of the nova-Institute – free available in this first edition!

2003-07-fibre-pricebase

This index shall show the price development of the natural fibres flax and hemp. For this purpose, confidential information is given by the leading european natural fibre suppliers

  • AGRO-Dienst GmbH
  • Badische Naturfaseraufbereitung GmbH
  • Hemcore Ltd., UK
  • HempFlax B.V., Niederlande
  • Holstein Flachs GmbH, Mielsdorf
  • Procotex SA Corporation, Belgien
  • SANECO, Frankreich

to the nova-Institut about the typical price for the standard fibre quality for nonwovens for automotive press-molded parts (given 100 t contract volume, net ex works).

The nova-Institut processes these data and publishes in this index dimensionless normed values for the minimums and maximums. The non-wheighted average of the hemp price data of march, 2003 was used to define the value “100” of the index.

This way, the development of the price span and the price level will become visible without publishing confidential informations about the prices which the enterprises like to keep secret.

N-Fibre-PriceBase shall contribute substantially to increase the attractiveness of natural fibres for companies of later added value stages. This shall be achieved in particular by the demonstration of the maturity and seriousness of the market as well as by improved prognosis possibilities for everyone. The index will be updated and published monthly.

This index is always available in its recent form at www.n-fibrebase.net.
