Celtic Renewables is widely regarded as the leading start-up company in the biofuel sector in the UK. The company was officially launched in early 2012 to commercialise a world leading innovation that combines the low value by-products of malt whisky production and converts them into high value advanced sustainable biofuel.
The award follows the history making milestone Celtic Renewables achieved in February this year by being the first in the world to produce biofuel capable of directly powering cars from residues of the whisky industry.
