EU-Project AGRIFORVALOR Kick-off meeting

A very successful event for the formal launch of the project

On March 10th and 11th 2016, the Steinbeis-Europa-Zentrum as coordinator hosted the AGRIFORVALOR Kick-off meeting in Stuttgart, Germany. This promising event brought together all project partners coming from research and business sector, all working in thIn particular, AGRIFORVALOR is a 30-month project that will establish multi-actor innovation partnership networks called Biomass Innovation Design Hubs, which are situated in three different pilot regions such as Hungary, Ireland and Spain (Andalusia). The Hubs and respectively their Hub managers will bring together several different actors mainly on regional/ national level but as well as on EU-level from business sector, research or academia, forest and agricultural sector offering a manifold variety of services such as workshops on exploitation of research results and on developing new business models for the forestry and agricultural sector.

The three different Hubs were officially set-up and their Hub manager elected at the Kick-off meeting. Each Biomass Innovation Design Hub elaborated its own vision having in mind the different conditions of the forest and agricultural sector in each region.

Hub Hungary

“Support to the further establishment of the bioeconomy sector from biomass sidestreams in the innovation landscape of Hungary (including policy support)”

Hub Ireland:

“Increase the value proposition of the agro and forest sectors in IRL by moving from energy to higher value products offering new business opportunities”

Hub Spain (Andalusia):

“Strengthening the agro and forest sectors by generating new business opportunities supported by a favourable public regulatory framework”

With this great ambition in mind, the project started.
