Dreamliner makes first transpacific flight using biofuel

Japanese airline today became the first to fly over the pacific ocean using an aviation jet fuel made in part from sustainable biofuel

The biofuel flight took place between the Boeing Delivery Centre in Everett (Washington, US) and Tokyo Haneda Airport.

Speaking after the flight ANA Senior Executive Vice President, Osamu Shinobe, said: “Our historic flight using sustainable biofuels across the Pacific Ocean highlights how innovative technology can be used to support our industry’s goal of carbon-neutral growth beyond 2020.”
