Determination of environmental hot spots with LCA

nova presents results at this year’s EFIB

IMG_1374During this year’s EFIB (27-29 October, Brussel/Belgium), nova’s LCA Analyst Dr. Christin Liptow presented on the topic of how to determine potential environmental hot spots using life cycle assessment (LCA). The presentation highlighted both the different steps needed to conduct an LCA for bio-based materials, as well as, results from the Framework 7 funded project IB2market.

The latter was used for demonstrating how hot spots determined as part of an LCA can provide guidance for improving production processes for bio-based products with regard to e.g. feedstock and downstream processing choices.
