The first stone of the bioethanol factory working on maize in Lacq, France, was put in place yesterday by Abengoa Bioenergy President Mr Javier Salgado.
The factory, developed in collaboration with the Spanish company Abengoa has been set up to produce 180,000 mt of ethanol from the equivalent of 50,000 mt of maize, brought by collectors (Euralis, Lur Berri, Maïsadour Vivadour, Lacadée). Aquitaine Industry Innovation and the AGPM are also involved in the project.
