To make bike races yet more “ecological”, the Portuguese company Polisport has produced an extruded-blow moulded water bottle using biodegradable plastics from renewable resources.
Apinat is the name of this bio-plastic, developed and patented by API spa of Mussolente (Vicenza, Italy), which behaves like a polyolefin suitable for contact with foods and beverages but offers the advantage of degrading under controlled composting conditions.
