Acidchem USA Inc, a unit of Acidchem International Sdn Bhd, the major oleochemicals producers in Malaysia, is expanding its fatty acid operation in the US by building its sales force and increasing fatty acid inventories. The company will now focus on direct selling and place less emphasis on distributors. Acidchem currently has a total capacity of 330,000 mt per year of fatty acid and glycerine production in its Penang facility in Malaysia. Last year the company expanded its production capacity by 110,000 mt per year. In addition to the storage facility in New Jersey, USA, Acidchem also has bulk facilities in Rotterdam, Netherlands, and in Kobe, Japan.
