Mapping European Biorefineries

A project of Bio-based Industries Consortium and nova-Institute

Bio-based Industries Consortium (BIC) and nova-Institute started a project that will make European bio-based activities more visible. Albeit Europe is already strong in the field of bio-based products, there is no map available yet that shows all commercial biorefineries in Europe. On behalf of the Bio-based Industries Consortium, nova-Institute will create such a map in the upcoming months. For the map, a biorefinery is defined as „an integrated production plant using biomass or biomass-derived feedstocks to produce a range of value added products and energy“. This includes also Bioethanol and Biodiesel plants.

If you are operating a biorefinery that should appear on the map, please take five minutes and answer the questions of the short web survey: http://nova-institut.de/survey/index.php/713748/

But even if you don’t operate a biorefinery yourself, we still appreciate your help: Please enter the survey and fill out the information for every refinery you are aware of.
If you have any questions related to the survey, feel free to contact oliver.arendt@nova-institut.de.

The map will be made publicly available in September at the BIC homepage.
